Getting started

Set up your workspace and understand the core workflow.

Access the app via your Clerk account. The user menu in the top-right lets you manage your profile.

Tabs = workflows

Use the top navigation to switch between the AI Prompt Generator, Lesson Template, and Planner (Basic). The Help tab opens this guide.

Save early

All work is stored in your browser. Export JSON to keep a copy before switching devices or clearing cache.

Data safety & storage

The app keeps your work private by saving it only in your browser.

  • Your lessons never leave your device until you export them.
  • Clearing browser data, switching browsers, or using incognito will remove unsaved work.
  • Export regularly (JSON for editing later; HTML/Slides/Print for sharing) to avoid data loss.
If you see the storage disclaimer, confirm it to continue. Set a recurring reminder to export after major edits.

AI Prompt Generator

Generate structured prompts that align with the BOPPPS framework and load them into the Lesson Template.

Rich-text editing Tables & highlighting Copy or download JSON

How to generate a prompt

  1. Enter your course context, learner profile, and objectives.
  2. Use formatting toolbar for bold, color, alignment, links, and tables.
  3. Click Generate to build the prompt. Refine text directly in the editor.
  4. Choose Copy to clipboard, Download to JSON, or Load into Lesson Template to push content to the builder.

Examples

Bridge-In ideas

"Open with a 60-second scenario about a real patient and ask learners to vote on next steps."

Participatory learning

"Run a think-pair-share on diagnostic criteria; capture notes in a shared doc link."

Post-assessment

"3-question exit ticket with one application, one analysis, one reflection prompt."

Lesson Template builder

Compose the full BOPPPS sequence, manage slides, verify sources, and export polished outputs.

Sections

Bridge-In, Outcomes, Pre-Assessment, Participatory Learning, Post-Assessment, Summary, Resources.

Blocks

Add text, images, video embeds, dividers, or activity prompts. Reorder with drag handles.

Slides vs page view

Switch to slide layout to paginate long sections; add slides per section as needed.

Student-friendly titles

Optional subtitles appear beside section headers and exports.

Build a section

  1. Select a section card and click Add content to insert blocks at the top or below a specific block.
  2. Edit text inline. Toggle HTML mode if you need to paste formatted markup.
  3. Use Add slide when a section needs multiple pages; navigate slides via the left drawer.
  4. Rename sections or student-friendly titles via the header edit icon.

Verify and cite sources

  • Add citations next to activities or resources; the citation controls support APA-style formatting.
  • Use inline notes to track evidence or instructor feedback while refining AI suggestions.
  • Keep source links in the Resources area so exports include verifiable references.

Organization tips

Bridge-In

Hook attention with a prompt, visual, or quick poll. Keep to 1–2 blocks.

Outcomes

List measurable objectives; use bullets and Bloom’s verbs.

Pre-Assessment

Insert a short quiz, prior-knowledge question, or rating scale.

Participatory Learning

Break into activities. Use separate slides for each task or case study.

Post-Assessment

Summaries, quick checks, or rubric links. Add divider blocks between items.

Summary & Resources

Recap key takeaways; link to readings, slides, or worksheets.

Planner (Basic)

Rapidly outline the lesson before detailed editing.

  1. Open the Planner (Basic) tab.
  2. Fill each BOPPPS stage with quick notes or timing estimates.
  3. Use it as a rough draft, then copy ideas into the Lesson Template for rich formatting.

Media, presets & rich text

Enhance blocks with visuals and formatting.

  • Images: Upload or choose preset images; they are embedded when exporting HTML or slides.
  • Videos: Add embed links or pick presets. Confirm accessibility (captions, transcripts).
  • Rich text: Use bold, colors, alignment, bullet/numbered lists, tables, superscript/subscript, highlights, and links.
  • Dividers: Insert to visually separate ideas within a slide.

Exporting & importing

Keep backups and share outputs.

Export JSON

Saves the editable lesson. Re-import to continue working later.

Export HTML/Slides/Print

Generates shareable views with navigation, per-section colors, and embedded assets.

Slide header colors

Pick a global color or set per-section palettes for exports.

How to export

  1. Open the Lesson Template and click Export.
  2. Choose JSON (for backups), HTML (interactive), Slides (presentation layout), or Print (PDF-friendly).
  3. Confirm file name and download. Store JSON in your cloud drive for versioning.

How to import JSON

  1. In the Lesson Template, select Import and choose your saved JSON file.
  2. Confirm sections and week/date metadata; the app restores blocks and slides.
  3. Save a fresh export after making updates.

Presenting & printing

Use exports to present or distribute your lesson.

  • Slides export: Creates slide-by-slide navigation with section colors and titles.
  • Print export: Generates a clean, multi-page document. Print to PDF for handouts.
  • HTML export: Interactive, collapsible sections with in-page navigation for sharing online.

Troubleshooting

Lost work?

If the browser cache was cleared, restore from your latest JSON export. Without a backup, data can’t be recovered.

Formatting issues

Use HTML mode to inspect pasted content. Remove extra spans/styles for cleaner exports.

Media not showing

Ensure image/video links are valid. Re-embed and re-export to bundle assets into HTML/Slides.

Navigation jumps

Open the left drawer in Lesson Template to jump to a specific section or slide.
